What Larkspur Advisory does

One-to-one advice sessions

Talk your money through with an adviser by video or secure message. You bring the question; nothing is sold to you halfway through the conversation.

Investment portfolio tracking

Holdings, contributions and allocation in one view instead of four apps and a spreadsheet, so a review starts with what you own rather than what you remember owning.

Goal-based savings plans

Name the goal — a deposit, a sabbatical, a year of fees — and get a monthly figure built from your real income and spending, not a round number.

Personalised financial planning

A written plan covering what comes in, what goes out, what you owe and what you are building, with the reasoning spelled out next to each decision.

Retirement projections

See what your pensions and contributions look like at different retirement ages, and what changing the contribution actually moves.

Budgeting and cashflow

Categorised spending and a month-by-month cashflow picture, so sessions are spent deciding rather than reconstructing.

Advice without the appointment

Most people who want financial advice never get it. Not because they cannot afford it, but because getting it has traditionally meant a weekday afternoon, a reception desk, a stranger in a suit and the uneasy feeling that something is being sold rather than explained.

Larkspur Advisory keeps the part that matters — a qualified person who knows your situation and will argue with you about it — and removes the rest. Sessions happen by video at a time you pick. Between them, you can ask a question by secure message and get an answer in writing, which is usually better than an answer you half-remember from a meeting.

The tone is deliberately plain. If a plan cannot be explained in a sentence you would repeat to your partner over dinner, it is not finished. We write out what we are suggesting, why, what it assumes, and what would have to change for the advice to change. You keep all of it.

Ways to work with us

Three starting points. Which one fits is something we agree on the first call, not something you have to guess now.

Single advice session

One decision, one conversation — a bonus to invest, an offer to weigh up, a pension you have lost track of.

  • A document checklist beforehand
  • One video session with an adviser
  • Written summary of what was decided
  • A window for follow-up questions

Ongoing financial plan

The full picture — income, savings, investments, debt, protection and retirement — kept current rather than filed away.

  • Full written plan with reasoning
  • Regular review sessions
  • Goals and portfolio tracked in the app
  • Plan revisited when life changes

Retirement review

For people within sight of stopping work who want to know what the numbers actually allow.

  • Review of existing pensions
  • Projections at several retirement ages
  • Contribution and drawdown scenarios
  • Written recommendation you keep

Every engagement begins with a scoping conversation, so the work is agreed before any of it starts.

How working with us goes

  1. Send an enquiry

Your name, your email and a line about what you want to sort out. No account, no documents, no card details at this stage.

  2. Introductory call

A short conversation about your situation and the decision in front of you, and an honest answer on whether we are the right people for it.

  3. Fact-find

You share the numbers — income, outgoings, savings, pensions, debts — through the app. Nothing is recommended before we have seen them.

  4. Your plan, then reviews

You get the written plan and the figures behind it, and we come back to it as income, family or markets move it out of date.

What you end up holding

At the end of a piece of work you have three things. A written plan in your own language, with the assumptions visible. A set of numbers in the app that stay up to date — goals, contributions, portfolio, cashflow — so you are not rebuilding the picture every time you want to think about it. And a named adviser who already knows your circumstances, which is the difference between a five-minute question and a two-hour one.

Worth saying plainly what advice is not. It is not a forecast. Nobody can tell you what markets will do, and anyone who offers to is selling something else. What good advice does is make the trade-offs explicit: save more here and the goal moves closer; take more risk there and the range of outcomes widens in both directions; leave the pension where it is and here is what that costs over twenty years.

Who it tends to suit

Request a consultation

Tell us roughly what you want to work out. The first conversation costs you nothing but the time.

  • An adviser reads your enquiry — not a sales team.
  • You will hear back by email to arrange an introductory call.
  • That first call is about your situation, not a product.
